(Austin, TX) The day after Michael McCaul voted against the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), challenger Larry Joe Doherty responded with a strongly-worded statement:

"If Mike McCaul doesn't think the children of Texas' working families need healthcare, it's time he gave up his taxpayer-funded health plan. McCaul's vote yesterday was literally sick, and it shows just how bad we're hurting for leaders who understand that real families face real healthcare bills."
